This lounge chair, model Karelia, was designed by Liisi Beckmann and manufactured by Zanotta in Italy in 1966. It is upholstered in high-quality lilac colored vinyl and features curves in the seat and is comfortable to sit on. Liisi Beckmann was a Finnish artist and designer, active in Italy. She was born on December 7, 1924 in Karelia and studied art in Helsinki. She moved to Italy in the late 1950s and worked in Rinascente´s Development Studio in Milan. The most famous collaboration with manufacturers is certainly the one with Zanotta for whom she designed the Karelia armchair in 1966, inspired by her homeland. It is being reproduced since 2007. The new models are upholstered in removable fabric, this piece has the vinyl upholstery of the original design.
